Irish Whiskey vs. Scotch Whisky
Levitt AMP Galva Music Series Fundraiser
Celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in a Curated Whiskey Tasting with Whisky Historian Brian “Fox” Ellis.  Join the Galva Art Council as we explore the Whiskeys of Ireland and Scotland in this fundraiser for the Levitt AMP Summer Concert series!  We will answer flavorful questions like: Why is there an ‘e’ in your whisky?  What is the argument for being well aged?   Single malt vs single grain?   Pot still vs. column still?  What difference does a barrel make?  Tickets are just $35 and we are limited to just 30 seats. We sold out last year and are nearly sold out again before going public!   SO make your reservations now by calling Fox at 309-696-1017
March 9: Coffeehouse Series Featuring Exorna!
 - Proceeds a silent auction (more details coming soon) go toward funding the Levitt AMP Galva Concert Series -
For over a decade, Exorna has been leaving people with smiles on their faces, playing music that is authentic and down to earth, singing songs loaded with humor and sentimentality, fiddling tunes Irish dancers can dance to, and doing it all on traditional instruments. Victor McMullen, Forrest Harris and Wiebe Ophorst are keeping alive a truly vanishing art form, and have practiced their craft at pubs, festivals, wakes, public television, and everywhere in between!  A delicious dessert and snack bar with coffee will also be included.  This is a free concert but we suggest a donation of $10 to $20 per person.

The silent auction fundraiser for the Levitt AMP Galva Music series will start at 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Winners will be announced after the concert at about 9pm.  Winners must be present at time of announcement and payment is due at that time.  A full list of auction items will be posted soon.  Stay tuned!

April 13 - Coffeehouse Series with Cedar County Cobras

Cedar County Cobras perform with a collection of instruments to play boot-stompin’ music that can only be found down the gravel roads of Iowa.  Often seen as a duo or a trio, the music has been described as contagious, acoustic rockabilly, dancing bluegrass, or brand new old-time country with the gritty sound of soulful blues.
It is almost impossible to box the sound of The Cobras into one musical genre when you hear an eclectic mix of acoustic blues and gypsy mandolin tunes that can only be heard in the Cobras’ songs.

Check out more from Cedar County Cobras at www.cedarcountycobras.com
Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7pm.  An open mic will follow at 8:30 p.m. All area musicians, storytellers and other artists are invited to participate.  A dessert and snack bar with coffee will also be included.  Admission and refreshments are free of charge, but donations are suggested and appreciated.
